IF YOU HEAR THE FIRE ALARM
ALERT AND PREPARE If you hear the fire alarm, remain alert and prepare yourself to evacuate. If directed to evacuate via the public address system, leave the room immediately by the nearest exit.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PACK BELONGINGS Time is precious. Do not attempt to pack your things - saving your life is the most important concern.

WET HAND TOWELS OR CLOTH When you leave, take your room key. Use a wet hand towel or cloth and keep your nose and mouth covered to be safe from the smoke and to prevent suffocation.

SMOKE If there is smoke, remain calm, drop to your hands and knees, and crawl to the exit and pathway. Air nearer the floor is cleaner and less likely to contain deadly gases.
IF YOU ARE TRAPPED IN YOUR ROOM
INFORM SOMEONE OF YOUR PRESENCE Contact the Guest Service Centre, beat at the door or signal people from the window to attract their attention.

KEEP THE FIRE OUT Seal the room from smoke by wetting towels or sheets and wedging these under the door to prevent smoke from entering the room. Turn off the air conditioning and fan. Fill the bathtub with water as you may need it to wet down your room.
